Sun-kissed coastal village at Capo Sottile
Located to the east of Capo Sottile, the southernmost foothills of Monte S. Angelo a Tre Pizzi, Praiano is one of the places on the Amalfi Coast most blessed by sunshine. Its houses lie scattered above and below the coastal road and are surrounded by terraced lemon gardens.
Praiano, also called the ‘white village’, covers a difference in altitude of altogether one hundred meters and ‘flows’ neatly into the neighboring village of Vettica Maggiore. Architecture and nature in harmony
The wonderful majolica cupola of S. Gennaro in the neighboring village of Vettica Maggiore is visible from afar, very well preserved decorative elements are found inside the church.
In the heart of Praiano lies the parish church of S. Luca, which dates from the 16th century. A majolica floor and numerous paintings by the artist Giovanni Bernardo Lama can be admired inside the church.
In the eastern districts of Praiano, at the end of a deep gorge, lies the idyllic fishing settlement of Marina di Praia. Do stop by there while vacationing at one of the holiday accommodations included in our offer at Praiano.
At the beautiful beach of Marina di Praia you can take a bath in the sun, relax and enjoy a swim in the sea. For a delicious meal stop at one of the village’s inviting fish restaurants.
